What is practice studio?

At IfDE, we believe that practice makes one perfect. Based on our rigorous experiential learning framework of Acquire — Assimilate — Apply — Practice, students are expected to do projects using the knowledge gained during weekend tutorials in the practice studio during the weekdays.

What career options do I have after I have graduated from IfDE?

As IfDE’s goal is to provide our students with multiple mindsets such as; design & creative thinking, empathetic research, innovation and entrepreneurship, our students will have multiple doors opened. Our students can decide to start their own business, join a company or NGO with their design skills, become a design researcher and many more as the program imparts 21st-century skill sets, careers options for IfDE students will be many.

Would the mentors be available for the practice studios?

Yes, Practice studios are mentored by industry experts, however, we expect more autonomy from the students. We do not believe in spoon feeding and yet, we do not allow students to fall through the cracks. Mentorship is provided to guide a student to make them independent thinkers and makers.

Are there any assistance/benefits provided after course completion?

Yes. For students who want to create a startup, IfDE will invite VC, Angel investors, and incubators for the final jury and demo days planned at the end of each semester and summer session.

For students wanting to pursue a career in industry, IfDE will actively provide placement guidance. IfDE will also create an alumni network that will allow students to access our resources after graduating.

Do you have online classes?

Currently, we do not provide any online courses. IfDE will start providing online courses from the academic year 2020-2021

How long do I have access to the reading material?

As a student of IfDE, you will have access to reading material, alumni and the mentors through out your career. Once an IfDEan, always and IfDEan is our philosphy.

Are IfDE courses recognised by any university or authority?

IfDE’s short-term programs and diplomas are not recognised by any university as we have developed these programs to be very flexible for our students, based on future of learning paradigms and do not meet the outdated requirements of Indian formal education. However, the certificates given to the students are in collaboration with Ajeenkya DY Patil University. We also offer formal UGC approved PG Diploma (1 year), M.B.A. (2 years) and M.Des (2 years) programs through Ajeenkya DY Patil University

Where is the institute located?

We are located at 3rd Floor, Anusagar, DP Rd, Maurya Vihar, Kothrud, Pune, Maharashtra 411038, India. We also offer programs out of Ajeenkya DY Patil University campus at Charoli Bk.via Lohegaon, District Pune – 412 105, Maharashtra , India

How do I apply?

– Fill the enquiry form which you can find in the “contact us” section in the website, you will receive a link to our online application by email. You will also receive further instruction on the application process with this email.

What is the course duration?

We offer various courses and programs as follows:

  1. Certificate program in Design Led Entrepreneurship – 16 weeks duration starting April 20th, 2019
  2. Certificate program in Digital Product and Service Design – 16 weeks duration starting April 20th, 2019
  • @IfDE Kothrud – 14 weeks, Start date will be published soon

Are there entry requirements to join the course?

The admissions to IfDE courses is based on aptitude and attitude. Hence the application process asks you certain questions to evaluate your positions. Formal educational qualifications will be considered but the highest weightage will be for your fit to the program’s vision and mission. As the medium of delivery is English, we expect our students to have a good command over both written and spoken English.

Can I apply for the course of Feb 9th?

Yes. You will receive a link to our online application form once you fill the “contact us” section in the website.

I am currently studying, would I be eligible to apply for IfDE courses?

Yes. As the tutorials are conducted over the weekends and practice studio sessions are available in three slots, you can apply for IfDE if you can spare about 30 hours a week of time.

Fee

Is there an EMI instalment procedure available?

No. However, we will consider this request from eligible candidates who have financial need.

What is the course duration?Are there scholarships available?

“Yes, there are limited number of full and partial tuition waivers for highly qualified students who demonstrate financial need.”
